Tinika Coleman RMT

Hi, my name is Tinika and I am a graduate from Centennial College. Since I was in High School I always knew that I wanted to be in a profession that was in the health care field. As the start of college drew closer, I was stuck between the choices of becoming a Nurse or a Registered Massage Therapist. I found that pursuing Massage Therapy was my true passion.

During treatment I use Swedish techniques, deep tissue techniques, myofascial techniques, trigger point therapy, lymphatic drainage, frictioning, PNF stretching, and joint mobilizations.Recently, in 2016 I have also taken continued education courses to learn about the use and benefits of cupping therapy for overall health wellness and the huge affect is has on the lymphatic system , detoxifying the body and fascial restrictions. Cupping therapy is a very beneficial yet a very different treatment from regular massage in that it uses de-compressive methods with lifting and pulling the structures creating space, rather than compressing the tissue. Also, I have been educated on the use and benefits of reflexology massage.  During treatment I always make sure to work within the comfort levels of my client and constantly check in with the pressure applied. Seeing the results and how much I help my clients throughout their everyday body stresses is greatly rewarding to me.

I enjoy working with the clients to achieve their goals and help incorporate the home care provided as best as possible to accommodate their everyday lifestyles.

I always have a positive attitude and I am very enthusiastic to meet new people and learn new skills while growing in this profession as a Massage Therapist.
